Is it asking for too much??

A hand that lifts itself in the air
To ask for another hand;
A look that perks itself on another pearly pair
To ask for a receptive glare;
Is it asking for too much??

Not that I wanted to walk the forbidden path
And eat the forbidden fruit!
Just that I wanted to taste the potion once
All in the hope of my one last pursuit!!

A pursuit of my inner wishes
Which somehow just refuses to surface?
As I stand before the mirror to make the time stop
Suddenly it seems that it has caught pace!

A pace that I’m unable to move along with,
A truth that stares me in the face,
Has the golden slush proven to be just a myth??
Is what I’m left wondering!

And finally even when I learn to live this wave of change
Do the two hearts still not want to unite one last time?
For all that has been unspoken between them since eternity,
Do they not want their thoughts to rhyme one last time?
Is it asking for too much??
